Alice Ho Tan

PSYCHOTHERAPIST
BA, Merit, NUS
Master of Counselling, Monash University

“Whatever is shareable is bearable…” – Daniel Siegal, Mindsight

Alice believes that those who seek counseling are those who are self-empowered in their quest for wholeness.  As such, her approach is based on being person-centered, and her therapeutic tools are adapted for each client’s needs. She employs integrative processes to enable each client to tell their stories and find empowerment in this shared journey.

Her personal history of being a mother of two boys with psycho-emotional challenges and a diplomatic spouse living in foreign postings – spanning four different countries in three different continents, including experiencing the Arab Spring in Egypt, have helped her to develop compassion and understanding for those who experience emotional and mental vulnerabilities because of life’s changes and unexpected transitions.

Her experiences of living in different environments with diverse cultures have helped her to gain insights and appreciation for complementary thinking and differing values that have shaped individuals and society.  Her previous work experience included consultancy at Ogilvy & Mather PR Pte Ltd (now renamed as Ogvily PR Worldwide) and running her own communications company, Equator Communications Asia Pte Ltd.
